Technical Guidance for the Data Quality Assurance Section of the Riau Taxation Regional Office,2023

Pekanbaru (Thursday, 12 October 2023), Head of BPS Riau Province Mr. Asep Riyadi, S.Si, MM had the opportunity to be a resource person and provide material related to Riau Economic Development 2023 and 2024 Prospects in the Technical Guidance Section of the Data Quality Assurance Section of the Riau Taxation Regional Office, with the theme "Stepping Together in Improving Data Quality." This activity took place in the meeting hall of the Fox Hotel Pekanbaru.

This Technical Guidance activity carried out by the Riau Taxation Regional Office (DJP) featured a number of structural officials, in this case the Head of the Data Quality Assurance Section from all Pratama's Taxation Office spread across 8 districts/cities in Riau Province. The aim of this activity is to increase the literacy of officials responsible for ensuring data quality within Pratama's Taxation Office regarding statistics, both technically and empirically, especially those related to the main potential for tax revenue in Riau Province, namely the palm oil plantation and processing industry sectors. This is in line with what was conveyed by Mrs. Laela Nikulina as Head of the Tax Potential Data Division of the Riau Taxation Regional Office in the opening narrative that she delivered.

On this occasion, the Head of BPS for Riau Province conveyed how important and strategic the position of taxes is in state revenues. The DJP must always have a target regarding whether tax revenues will decrease, stagnate or increase in each tax year. Based on this, it must also be anticipated whether state financing will surplus or deficit. From a practical side, this of course cannot be separated from statistical data and strategic indicators in the area concerned. By better understanding the meaning of each statistical indicator that is relevant to the scope of taxation, it is hoped that the potential for tax revenue will be further optimized.
