Development of Farmer Terms of Trade of Riau Province in March 2025

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
The NTP of Riau Province in March 2025 was recorded at 197.13, or an increase of 2.96 percent compared to February 2025 of 191.47. This increase in NTP was due to an increase in the Price Index Received (It) by farmers by 3.91 percent, while the Price Index Paid (Ib) by farmers only increased by 0.93 percent.
In March 2025, 6 out of 10 provinces on the island of Sumatra experienced an increase in the Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP). Riau was recorded as the province with the highest increase in NTP in Sumatra, namely 2.96 percent. The province that experienced the deepest decline in NTP on the island of Sumatra was West Sumatra with a decrease in NTP of 2.20 percent.
In March 2025, there was an increase in the agricultural household consumption price index (IKRT) in Riau Province by 1.21 percent. This increase was caused by the Housing, Water, Electricity and Other Fuels group which increased by 18.24 percent, followed by the Personal Care and Other Services group which increased by 0.81 percent, the Clothing and Footwear group which increased by 0.77 percent, the Equipment, Tools and Maintenance group which increased by 0.10 percent, the Food and Beverage/Restaurant Provision group increased by 0.07 percent, while the Information, Communication and Financial Services and Transportation groups decreased by 0.07 percent and 0.01 percent respectively. The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) of Riau Province increased by 3.69 percent, namely from 184.89 in February 2025 to 191.70 in March 2025. This increase was caused by an increase in the Received Price Index (It) by 3.91 percent, while the BPPBM Index increased by only 0.22 percent.
